There are many different reasons why Spain continues to be one of the most visited countries of the world. Spain is a nation full of style and culture and home to some major cities that are widley considered to be some of the finest throughout Europe with plenty on offer for people of all ages and background.
Spain is currently thriving with Art. Its museums are arguably some of the finest in Europe. The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid has the largest collection of paintings in Europe and other excellent museums include the Museu d'Art Contemporani in Barcelona, Bilbao's Guggenheim and the Picasso in Malaga.
With such a high level of annual visitors Spain has been very active in investing and improving its infrastructure. The country now has several international airports, a superb high speed train link and a fine road network. Malaga airport in the South is now one of the worlds busiest airports and will shortly complete some major expansions allowing even more air traffic and travellers into the region.
Possibly the major factor that continues to pull in so many annual tourists is the exceptional climate that Spain has on offer. Many of its coast lines have been established as major holiday destinations for many years. The Costa del Sol in the South, due to a unique micro climate, enjoys more than three hundred annual days of sunshine! Whilst the beaches of Spain remain busy throughout the Summer months, many people now choose to visit the country during the cooler months. Between October and May the temperatures are still usually a very comfortable 60-70 F which makes perfect weather for sight seeing or playing one of the many top class golf courses.
After recent sporting victories for the nations football team and the unstoppable Rafa Nadal in the tennis world this ultra proud nation is now even more bouyant than ever before. It is a fine time to be a Spaniard and an equally great time to be a visitor.
